David Coulthard on this week’s Spòrs

Thursday 4 May 2006, 6.30pm, BBC2

In an exclusive interview to be shown on BBC TWO this Thursday evening (4th May 2006), Scottish Formula 1 racing driver David Coulthard talks to the new Gaelic sports series, SPÒRS, about the personal challenges he faces in his life. The programme’s Chief Sports Correspondent, Alick O Henley, talks to the Red Bull driver about his disappointment at leaving the McLaren team and hears how Coulthard has coped with life in the limelight.

A fresh new news-driven series covering local, national, and international sports, Spòrs offers Scottish sports enthusiasts an exciting new magazine style sports programme. Presented by Patsi MacKenzie and John Morrison, Spòrs is packed with sports news from the Highlands and Islands, breaking news stories, and in-depth interviews with sports stars.

This week, and every week, the programme will include extended highlights from the top shinty match of the week. Last weekend the Spòrs cameras were in Badenoch to capture all the action in the MacTavish Cup Quarter Final as treble winners Kingussie claimed victory over rivals Newtonmore.

This weeks programme also includes a report on the Nicolson Institute’s senior boys football team game against Inverurie High School in the North of Scotland Cup Final, and reporter Derek Murray travels to Sweden for an exclusive interview with the manager of the Scotland women’s international football squad, Anna Signuel.
