COMEDY KING OR QUEEN TO BE CROWNED IN BARRA

Comadaidh Òir – BBC2 Scotland
Thursday 29th December 2005 – 7.00pm

The Comadaidh Òir tour comes to an end this Thursday evening, when the six writers reach the island of Barra in their quest to be crowned King (or Queen)
of the series.

Over the last five weeks BBC Scotland viewers have shared in the drama of the rollercoaster ride of the six writers and four actors who have travelled
throughout Scotland on board the Comadaidh Òir Bus. At each step of the tour each writer had to come up with a new sketch inspired by the locality, for the
four-strong troupe of actors to perform in a live show.

In this last programme of the series the Castlebay Hall in Barra is packed, as Western Isles MP, Angus Brendan MacNeill, joins Cathy MacDonald to comment on
the nights performances.

Who will be crowned King of Queen of the series? Find out when you tune into Comadaidh Òir this coming Thursday on BBC2 Scotland.

And as this series draws to a close – the search begins for writers for the next series to be filmed in July 2006. Any aspiring comedy writers should contact MnE
Television in Glasgow to register their interest.

Comadaidh Òir is produced by the award-winning MnE Television and The Comedy Unit, and funded by Seirbheis nam Meadhanan Gaidhlig for BBC Scotland. The six
featured writers are Duncan MacDonald, Artair Donald, Iain MacDonald, Mairi MacLeod, Gilleasbuig Ferguson and Scott MacDonald. The actors are Kenny MacRae, Carina MacLeod, Alex MacDonald and Ruairidh MacIver.
