THE GAELIC BOOK THAT GETS YOUR VOTE
Which book would get your vote for the most popular Gaelic book? For the first time on BBC2 Alba, viewers will be able to cast their vote by pressing the red button on digital satellite and have their say on the subject later this month, with an alternative telephone and online vote.
Ten nominators have been asked to choose their favourite Gaelic book and to present the case for it being worthy of the title Greatest Gaelic Book. The search begins on TAGHADH NAN LEABHAR with Coinneach MacIomhair at 9.00am on Monday 13th September on BBC Radio nan Gaidheal with the nominators each making their presentations. By Thursday 16th the panel of three judges will shortleet three books.
Television viewers will also have their chance to consider the three shortlisted books in a special edition of Ealtainn, TAGHADH NAN LEABHAR on BBC 2 Alba on Thursday 16th September at 7pm, and register their vote for their pick of the three by pressing the red button on digital satellite, by telephone or online at bbc.co.uk/alba. The result of the poll will be announced by Coinneach MacIomhair on Friday 17th September just before 10am. Voting by telephone (numbers to be announced on Thursday 16th ) and online closes at 9.30 on Friday 17th.
